Alsager's positive Covid-19 cases stood out in Cheshire East according to the latest official figures.
In the seven days to Saturday 24th October, 40 new cases were reported in Alsager West, up 21 on the previous week, with a rolling rate of 704.2 per 100,000 people.

Each year at the end of November, Wesley Place Methodist Church opens its doors to thousands of visitors for its annual Christmas Tree Festival.
The Christmas Tree Festival is one of the highlights of Alsager's street fair, which accompanies the turn on of the Christmas lights in the village.

The Ladies' 1s and Chester served up an excellent game at Alsager Sports Hub. Chester took the lead midway through the first half when a deflected shot ended up in the net despite keeper Emily Statham getting a stick to it.

Paper plates with passionate messages about child poverty were placed on railings outside Fiona Bruce MP's office in Congleton.
The protest followed Mrs Bruce's decision not to support England and Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford's campaign to extend the provision of free school meals throughout half-term.

David Wilson Homes North West has donated £500 worth of cleaning and care products to Alsager and District Foodbank to assist the organisation throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Based in Alsager, close to the housebuilder's Scholar Place development on Hassall Road, the foodbank has been running since 2013 as part of the Alsager Community Support Centre and Alsager Community Church.

Over the weekend, Nub News reported that The Chinese Garden and The Wilbraham Arms would be providing free meals for any child who would normally receive free school meals.
This followed the rejection of the Labour motion to continue directly funding provision of free school meals over the school holidays until Easter 2021 by 322 votes to 261.
