Triton Ladies' 1s 2 Chester Ladies' 3s 3

The Ladies' 1s and Chester served up an excellent game at Alsager Sports Hub. Chester took the lead midway through the first half when a deflected shot ended up in the net despite keeper Emily Statham getting a stick to it.

The visitors made it 2-0 five minutes later. However, after player of the match Lucy Salter slotted in a superb solo goal that lifted the home team's spirits as they became much more confident for the rest of the game.

This confidence continued with some terrific defending from back three Hannah Ford, Sophie Stanley, and Lucy Evans.

There was some excellent link up play between Hannah Spears and Lottie Wade that kept the ball pressing forward with Darcey Pawesowski making some excellent efforts down the wing.

Kate Fallon played a pivotal role in midfield linking well with the forwards. But with five minutes to go a penalty corner goal robbed Triton of what would have been a deserved draw in its best performance of the season so far.

Triton Men's 2s 0 Sandbach Men's 1s 1

Triton Men's 2s lost a keenly contested local derby with rivals Sandbach. The visitors took the lead midway through the first period with its first foray into the Triton D.

Triton dominated large periods of the game with Joss Berry, Tony Stevens, Tom Statham, and Dan Hancock all going close to what would have been a deserved equaliser for the hosts.

In defence Conor Berry and Matt Kerry had good games to prevent Sandbach getting any hold on the game. Whilst keeper and skipper Oskar Linblad could do little about the Sandbach goal, he produced good saves in the second period when Sandbach did counter attack.

Macclesfield Ladies' 5s 0 Triton Ladies' 2s 1

The Ladies' 2s won its second game of the campaign. In a game Triton dominated for large parts of the first half with numerous short corners and chances denied by the Macclesfield defenders.

The play of the match that ultimately settled the game came from Jo Hankey who struck the ball into the D, Angelica Almeida had her stick in the right position to deflect high into the net.

The second half was more even with Macclesfield getting a couple of penalty corners, which they failed to convert due to some great saves from Jenna Hulme and a fantastic last-minute block by Lindsey Williams.

Jackie Jones played out of her skin and was deservedly voted player of the match as Triton saw out the game for a narrow 1-0 win.

Sandbach Men's 2s 15 Triton Men's 4s 0

The Men's 4s suffered a very heavy defeat to an extraordinarily strong Sandbach team after enjoying a good start to the season before this game.

For large parts of the first half, the team defended well and were disciplined in repelling Sandbach attacks.

At times, Sandbach placed some fantastic hockey with some lovely first time passes yet, coming up to half time, the score was 3 - 0 and the Triton team was pleased with its efforts.

Unfortunately, Sandbach rattled in three goals in quick succession after the half time break to dampen the mood.

Whilst the team has shown great resilience so far this season, the performance in the second half did not improve and the score line did not flatter Sandbach's dominance.

Some of the goals scored may have been fortuitous but, equally, Triton can have no complaints overall.

Darren Cook performed well in goal, saving a penalty stroke, and played well despite the score line. Tony Johnson and Simon Moss also made several crucial interventions.

All in all, it was a bad second half and the team looks to bounce back to its early and pre-season form next weekend.

The Men's 1s and 3s games were both postponed due the latest Covid-19 restrictions.
