Fire crews from Crewe, Alsager and Kidsgrove attended just before 11pm after the fire broke out in the living room of the property.

AN animal welfare campaigner wants more Alsager schools to follow the lead of an innovative project and become 'hedgehog-friendly'.
Pikemere Primary School has become the town's first school to improve access for hedgehogs and other small animals by installing new fencing with wildlife gaps at regular intervals.

Two new benches will be installed at a park in Alsager following a successful grant request.
A community group submitted a £905 grant request to Alsager Town Council to facilitate the purchase of the benches at Wayside Linley Park.

Plans for a motocross circuit have been knocked back as it would represent a "harmful visual intrusion" and "encroachment" into the open countryside.
Mr Boote submitted a retrospective planning application to Cheshire East Council for the change of use at land east of Chells Hill (B5078), Rode Heath, to a motocross circuit on an intermittent basis.

The chair of Alsager Town Council had to repeatedly remind councillors to treat each other with respect, following accusations that councillors were subject to slanderous comments online from their fellow elected representatives.
Cllr Michael Unett was amongst several councillors, who recently felt they could not decide on the Alsager Partnership's funding request, due to the conflicting information and difference in opinion coming from both the organisation and the Partnership Review Panel.

Residents who live near an industrial estate in Alsager have called on the local authorities to act and improve their "quality of life".
Ian Scott, who was representing eight other neighbours who also live on Fields Road, Alsager, expressed his concerns to Alsager Town Council regarding the Excalibur Industrial Trading Estate.
The level crossing by Alsager Station has now reopened to all traffic.
Network Rail had been on the scene at Audley Road, Alsager, making sure the barriers were in safe working condition as quick as possible.
