Level crossing at Alsager Station remains closed after lorry collides with rail barriers

Due to an incident affecting the barriers at Alsager Station, the level crossing is currently closed.

Network Rail are now on the scene at Audley Road, Alsager, and are hoping to get the barriers into working condition soon.

It has been reported that a lorry has hit the rail barrier, by the level crossing.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "There is disruption to rail services and local roads while we repair it so trains can safely pass through again."
