This weekend, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) invite you to take part in their Big Garden Birdwatch.

Whether you are a keen birder or not, now is your chance to get to know your local wildlife by spending an hour looking around your garden or out of your window to see what flits past. The birdwatch takes place from Friday to Sunday (January 29-31).

A local GP practice has revealed with "immense pride" that 96% of Alsager's care home residents have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Cedars Medical Centre, who revealed the excellent percentage yesterday (Wednesday), said: "A massive thank you to all our Care Home patients and to our dedicated staff who made this possible."

Schoolchildren and college students in Alsager are set to remain at home until at least March following Prime Minister Boris Johnson's announcement earlier today, Wednesday.

The PM revealed the news while delivering a Covid update to the House of Commons, a day after official figures confirmed more than 100,000 people have now died with the virus in the UK.
