'TEN per cent' of Cheshire East residents have 'already' had their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, according to council leader Sam Corcoran.

"The vaccine programme is going very well. Hopefully all over 80s will be vaccinated by the end of January — this is a challenging target but it looks likely to be met," the Labour leader said.

Staff at Lawton Manor Care Home were delighted to be invited to have the Covid-19 vaccination by Mere Park Medical Centre which was facilitated by the Thirteen Club in Alsager yesterday (Wednesday).

Having the jab "really lifted everyone's spirits" at the Church Lawton care home, which is run by Barchester Healthcare, after "what has been a very challenging year for everyone".

Following claims that Alsager Town Council meetings had sometimes become "quite toxic" for a "good number of years", councillors agreed to adopt an anti-bullying charter.

After Cheshire East Council recently agreed to adopt an anti-bullying charter, Cllr Michael Unett proposed that Alsager Town Council adopted the same charter and agreed to adhere to the same principles.
