'Bold' new plans for improving the quality and appearance of Alsager town centre have been developed and are now out for consultation with residents and businesses.

The public realm plans aim to create an "attractive and high quality" hub of the community, prioritising pedestrians over drivers, thus encouraging residents and visitors to take part in the wide range of activities and experiences which, in normal times, the town centre offers.

Plans for a major new industrial development on a 40-acre site in Radway Green which will create more than 1,000 jobs have been approved.

Tilstone Industrial Limited and Corbally Group (Radway Ltd) submitted a hybrid planning application for six warehouses at the former BAE Systems site on Radway Green Business Park, Radway Green Road, Barthomley.

A ward councillor has warned Alsager residents that their household recycling centre is going to be "greatly impacted" by the closure of Congleton's tip.

The site located off Barn Road is due to close in September 2021, as the lease on the land is up, and planning documents show Bluemantle, the owner has earmarked it to become a Costa coffee drive-through outlet.

The installation of a zebra crossing on a busy Alsager road which was intended to be carried out during the February half-term period can now proceed following feedback from residents.

Cheshire East Council plans to install a zebra crossing on Crewe Road, near the junction with Cranberry Lane, using both section 106 money from the housing developments at Goss Place and from the Sustainable Modes of Transport to School fund.

A series of cycle and scooter safety sessions are set to be delivered in Alsager thanks to funding from police and crime commissioner (PCC) David Keane.

Alsager High School has teamed up with their local policing team and dedicated PCSO Kerrie Cummings to establish an afterschool session whereby young people can learn how to refurbish their bikes and stay safe whilst cycling to and from school.
