On Saturday, three hardy Rotarians dug numerous holes in the ground above the Sensory (Sunken) Garden in Milton Park and planted around 3,000 purple crocus corms.

The plants will hopefully flower in the park around the end of February 2021 and for the years to come afterwards.

The 1st Alsager Scout Group has "regretfully" had to announce that they will not be able to collect/recycle Christmas trees in 2021.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and there being no guarantee that any further restrictions could be applied early in the New Year, the group decided to cancel the collection.

Lindsay Purcell has a 42-year association with the school.

Alsager School is delighted that former Deputy Head and current chair of Governors, Lindsay Purcell, has written a book about his personal reflections of the history of the school from 1952 up to the current day.

Speaking about the book titled 'The History of Alsager School: A Personal Reflection', Mr Purcell said: "With 2021 being the 50th anniversary of comprehensive education in Alsager, I thought it was an appropriate time for the history of the school to be written.

Members of the Alsager community expressed their continued frustration against the borough's active travel measure on Lodge Road, which came from an adaption of a highway initiative from 12 years ago.

Since Friday, there have been two separate occasions where residents have taken it upon themselves to remove the bollards at the edge of Lodge Road/Sandbach Road North.
