Twyford House Luxury Care Centre in Alsager is helping individuals to combat loneliness and isolation this winter through short breaks and respite care services.

Their brand new luxury care centre, located on Richard Woodcock Way, Alsager, features high-quality facilities including a terrace bar, ensuite bedrooms, activity rooms, cinema room and its own beauty clinic.

The centre also offers a varied program of activities for residents, with a minimum of six offered to residents every day including themed evenings, crafts and gentle exercises.

In response to the current situation, Twyford House are keen to let their local community, and anyone who may be struggling with living alone at the moment, know that they are open for short breaks and respite care throughout the season.

Operations Director for Lovett Care, Debbie Baker, said: "Shorter days and more time spent indoors over winter can leave some people feeling lonely and disconnected.

"The new restrictions may intensify these feelings of loneliness and make meaningful human contact even more difficult, especially with the arrival of cold weather.

"Respite care and short breaks at Twyford House aim to alleviate this by providing a safe haven where residents can relax, enjoy daily activities and connect with one and other."

At Twyford House, their mission is to create an inclusive and vibrant community. They understand that this time of the year can be very difficult for some.

What's more, family members and loved ones may be concerned about the safety of those living alone who are not getting the support and companionship they need due to the ongoing situation.

For that reason. the centre's short breaks and respite care services are on hand to provide all of these things, as well as an active community, in safe, elegant surroundings.

In order to protect residents and staff at Twyford House, a number of COVID secure processes are in place to help welcome residents.

New residents at the care centre in Alsager will be required to undergo a period of isolation, with care being provided in bedrooms in line with the PHE guidance.

During this time, staff are on hand 24/7 to tend to the physiological and psychological needs of new residents, before their transition into the wider Twyford House community.

Following this, new residents will have full access to all of the fantastic facilities at Twyford House, as well as the company and companionship of current residents.

If you are concerned about spending more time alone this winter, or feel your family member or loved one may benefit from more support for a short spell, contact Twyford House and speak to their home manager about short breaks at the centre.
