Alsager School is delighted that former Deputy Head and current chair of Governors, Lindsay Purcell, has written a book about his personal reflections of the history of the school from 1952 up to the current day.

Speaking about the book titled 'The History of Alsager School: A Personal Reflection', Mr Purcell said: "With 2021 being the 50th anniversary of comprehensive education in Alsager, I thought it was an appropriate time for the history of the school to be written.

"I thoroughly enjoyed writing the book and reminiscing over many happy years at the school. I hope readers will experience the same enjoyment."

In September 2019, the school opened The Purcell Building, named after the popular former Deputy Head, who has a 42-year association with the school. The building houses the new Sixth Form College and five classrooms.

Parents of current students can order the book through the school ParentPay system, and two local shops will stock the book: Beading Amazing on Crewe Road and Handmade Naturals on Sandbach Road South.

Alternatively, the book can be ordered online where anyone in the ST72 area will have free delivery.
