News in Alsager

With the second national lockdown starting today (Thursday), the latest Covid-19 figures show that the Alsager West ward remains in the highest bracket for coronavirus cases per 100,000 people.

However, while 29 cases were reported in Alsager West in the seven days up to 30 October, that was a drop of 12, meaning it had a rolling rate of 510.6 per 100,000 people.

Residents of Lawton Manor Care Home, Church Lawton, recently enjoyed an engaging life enrichment program that included a number of activities which ended with a Spooktacular Halloween party.

With a full week of themed activities, residents enjoyed pumpkin carving, art class sessions, creating and crafting bats, spiders and friendly ghost decorations that adorned the home's communal areas.

The much-anticipated installation of a zebra crossing on a busy Alsager road is due to be carried out during the February half-term period next year.

Cheshire East Council plans to install a zebra crossing on Crewe Road, near the junction with Cranberry Lane, using both section 106 money from the housing developments at Goss Place and from the Sustainable Modes of Transport to School fund.
