A 45-year-old woman suffered from "slight" smoke inhalation following a toaster fire in Alsager.

Firefighters were called to Station Road in Alsager shortly after 6pm yesterday (Tuesday, 1 December) following reports of a fire at a house.

Plans for Cheshire East Council to remove a crossing which "interfered" with traffic movement and caused "undue delay" in Alsager town centre have been supported by the town council.
