An Alsager resident has hit back at proposed car parking charges being implemented by Cheshire East Council.

Alsager Nub News revealed yesterday (Monday) here how the Action for Alsager group had launched a survey into proposed charges.

Cheshire East councillors voted in favour of reviewing parking charges across the borough and going out to public consultation.

At present there are no charges in some of the borough's towns, including Alsager, Cheshire East councillors voted to go out to consultation in September at their highways committee meeting in July.

But now a resident, who didn't want to be named, has contacted Alsager Nub News asking question about parking for disabled badge holders and residents who don't have on-street parking.

The reader said: "I am one of several Lawton Road residents in Alsager with no off-road parking and also having very limited mobility and the dubious pleasure of a blue badge.

"I am therefore totally dependent on Fields Road or other nearby streets.

"I'm sure it would greatly assist many to know what plans are there to ensure that current local on-street parking is prioritised for such residents?"
