Transport Police highlight dangers of trespassing on railway following reports of children playing near Alsager Station

By Tom Avery 30th Nov 2020

British Transport Police has highlighted how "dangerous" trespassing on the railway is after they received a report of children playing on a footpath crossing near Alsager Station.

BTP were notified at 2:53pm yesterday (Sunday, 29th November) that there were children playing near the station and enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

A BTP spokesperson told Nub News: "Trespassing on the railway is extremely dangerous and we see hundreds of people taking risks on and around the tracks every year, resulting in tragic consequences or life-changing injuries.

"If you witness someone trespassing, please text us on 61016 or call 999 in an emergency."
