Alsager Highfields Primary School gratefully received a kind donation of laptop devices from Asda supermarkets.

The Alsager branch nominated Highfields to receive these devices (including headphones, data and wireless internet connection) in a national 'Laptops for Schools' programme Asda was running in partnership with Dell and Vodafone.

The supermarket chain has made the generous gesture to help support children in their learning, especially given the impact of partial school closures over the last 12 months due to COVID.

All children in England returned to schools on 8th March, during January and February, the majority of school aged children learnt from home.

This followed on from nearly four months of home learning during the last academic year.

Acting headteacher of Alsager Highfields and CEO of Alsager Multi Academy Trust, Richard Middlebrook, said: "On behalf of all the children and staff at Alsager Highfields, I would like to thank Asda and Dell for this very generous donation.

"We are very grateful indeed and these devices will make a huge difference to the learning experience of our children here in school.

"The kit we have been given is of a high specification and they can be used with both keyboards and touch screen, for this reason we will be using these with our reception and Key Stage 1 children.

"They are very excited to get their hands on them."
