On Thursday 25th April 2024 at Alsager Golf & Country Club, saxophonist Andy Scott will be performing a superb night of Latin jazz alongside his close friend and colleague, Paul Kilvington. This will be world class music, don't miss it!

Scott stands as a luminary figure in contemporary jazz, celebrated for over three decades of musical innovation and collaboration. With a lifelong devotion to music, Scott's journey as a saxophonist and composer has traversed various genres, melding elements of jazz, world, and contemporary classical styles into a seamless sonic tapestry uniquely his own. His versatility as a musician is exemplified through his distinct saxophonic voice and prowess in composition, a talent recognized with multiple nominations and a prestigious BASCA British Composer Award.

As an esteemed educator and mentor, Scott shares his wealth of musical knowledge and experience at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he imparts his passion for composition and saxophone to aspiring musicians. Whether leading jazz workshops, tutoring future talents, or collaborating on summer schools, Scott's commitment to nurturing the next generation of musicians is unwavering. His dedication to the tenor saxophone is evident in both his performance-based projects and educational endeavours. His dedication to music in our local area is proven relentlessly through his involvement with the Sandbach Concert Series and regular local saxophone workshop days.

Scott's career is marked by prolific collaborations and inventive projects, from his role as a founder member of the Apollo Saxophone Quartet to leading Group-S (formerly known as SaxAssault) alongside renowned guest artists. As a highly respected figure on the global stage, Andy Scott's enduring legacy resonates through his multifaceted contributions to jazz, composition, and music education, earning him admiration and acclaim from peers and audiences alike.

Leading the rhythm section will be Paul Kilvington who is a seasoned jazz pianist with a remarkable career spanning over 40 years in the music industry. With a versatile skill set that encompasses soul, jazz, and pop music, Kilvington has graced stages worldwide and collaborated with a diverse array of artists, including Cathy Dennis, Jack Jones, Branford Marsalis, and Bob Mintzer. His dynamic performances have reached audiences internationally, being showcased on esteemed platforms such as Top of the Pops, Des O'Connor Show, Smash Hits Awards, World Music Awards, and the Arsenio Hall Show. Notably. Kilvington has also established himself as a composer and bandleader, founding the Latin jazz ensemble Amazonia, which has graced major UK jazz festivals and who released their debut album "Under The Sun" in 2017. A recipient of numerous awards and accolades since his graduation from Leeds Jazz College, Kilvington continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his energetic enthusiasm and virtuosic piano performances. Completing the rhythm section will be Peter Robinson (bass) and Roger Keay (drums).
