The Christmas lights are on in Alsager and now it's time to bring some festive cheer to children in need.

There's still time to donate to Alsager's much-loved Toy Appeal which has the last few days left running until Thursday (27 November) with a mission to bring joy to families who are going through difficult times this year.

After many years of incredible dedication from Mr and Mrs Longhurst, who coordinated the appeal on behalf of Alsager Community Support (ACS), Alsager Tangent club are kindly stepping up to support ACS to continue this special tradition.

Last year, the appeal gathered over 220 donated presents, helping more than 100 families across our community mainly in Alsager and the surrounding areas. It was a true show of local kindness — neighbours helping neighbours, and small acts adding up to something big.

"This year, the need is greater than ever. The Toy Appeal will be providing new gifts for children of all ages, up to 16 years old, to make sure every child wakes up to something special on Christmas morning," say Alsager Community Support.

There are various collection points in Alsager and surrounding areas, as highlighted in the poster above — making it easy for anyone to drop off a donation. You can also donate via the Amazon Wishlist by scanning the QR code on the poster.

Alsager Community Support added: "We're asking local individuals, families, and businesses to get involved if they can. Whether it's a toy, a book, or something special for a teenager, every gift makes a difference. We are also collecting gift bags, wrapping paper and gift tags.

"Because sometimes, the smallest gesture — a present under the tree — can remind someone that their community truly cares."

Alsager Community Support is located at 19-21 Crewe Road Alsager ST7 2EW. The entrance is located on the left-hand side of The Vault (immediately to the right of Sainsbury's).

It is open from 9.30 to 12.30 pm on weekdays and 1pm- 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. For more information, please contact [email protected] or call 01270 876605.
