Black Friday holiday deals: What you need to know
Alsager, like everywhere else, is keeping an eye out for deals this Black Friday. It's the ultimate buzzword in bargain hunting, and it's not just toasters and TVs – holiday deals are everywhere too, says
We spoke to local travel expert Sara Dickenson, independent travel consultant with Travel Counsellors, about Black Friday which takes place this Friday ( 28 November).
Is it the best time to book your next escape we asked Sara whom told us what you should know before getting swept up in the hype.
Have a plan before you browse
Before you even open a search engine, ask yourself: what do I really want from my next holiday?
Is it a week on the sand somewhere warm, a city adventure, or perhaps a stunning hotel in the hills? Knowing your priorities saves time and helps you spot genuine value, rather than getting distracted by flashy discounts on holidays that aren't quite right.

Don't Believe the hype: Bargains aren't just for Black Friday
While some eye-catching deals pop up during Black Friday, the reality is that great value isn't reserved for this one week. Many of the offers you see can often be found at other times of year.
The best-kept secret in travel? Often, the very best prices appear around 11 months in advance of your trip, especially for popular destinations and peak dates.
Beware the dynamic pricing trap
A word of warning: the big online holiday sites use "dynamic pricing." That means the more you (or anyone else for that matter) look at the same holiday, the higher the price will climb.
In the final 24 hours of a sale, prices might change by the second as algorithms adjust to demand. If you're sure about what you want and spot a price you're happy with, book it there and then.
If not, take a breather – don't let the ticking clock or "last chance" banners rush you into a snap decision.
Mind the marketing tactics
Countdowns, pop-ups, and bold flashes all aim to trigger that fear of missing out. Remember, there's always another deal. If you love the thrill of chasing an online bargain, go for it! If not, it's perfectly fine to wait it out – pressure-free.
Why use a trusted travel professional?
In a world full of ever-changing deals, countdowns and online trickery, a trusted travel specialist can take all the stress away.
"My goal is simple: to always get you the best deal, at the right time, tailored just for you, no matter the time of year," says Sara.
"I navigate the dynamic pricing, know when the genuine bargains really are, and filter out the noise, so you get honest, expert advice and the best possible value.
"Your holiday should be exciting, not overwhelming, and I'm here every step of the way."

The Savviest Travel Move? Plan Ahead
For truly stress-free holidays and better value, my number-one tip is to book around 11 months in advance. Not only do you get first pick of rooms, flights and extras, but you often secure prices before they start to climb.
So, whether you're diving into Black Friday deals or quietly planning your next adventure, remember: stay savvy, set your sights on what you want, and book when you're ready – not when the adverts tell you to.
