Network Rail intend to undertake works to reconstruct part of the existing bridge known as 'Fords' bridge on the Crewe — Alsager rail line.

The bridge is located approximately 0.5km south of Oakhanger village and provides for agricultural use over the railway and the adjacent Valley Brook.

Network Rail have proposed to carry out works to the part of the bridge above Valley Brook.

This section of the bridge will carry Valley Brook through a culvert, with the remainder of the current bridge span infilled with a reinforced soil slope.
