Alsager Community Support, in partnership with Alsager Town Council and Cheshire East Council, is now offering Lateral Flow Tests for Covid-19 at Alsager Civic on Monday and Thursday mornings.

A fully trained team of 12 volunteers, led by Anne Black, administers the tests, which give a result in 30 minutes.

Approximately one in three people who have coronavirus do not have any symptoms, but they are still able to infect others.

This type of test aims to identify these people, so they can isolate and not spread the virus further.

The tests are primarily for the residents of Alsager and surrounding villages and are intended for carers, people who cannot work from home and volunteers.

The volunteers can now offer tests on the morning for over 18s – call in to the civic and book an appointment.

These tests are not suitable for those showing any Coronavirus symptoms.

Anyone who has symptoms of Covid-19 should book a PCR test through the Government website.

If you would like to book a test or would like more information, please email [email protected]

Results are reported to gov.uk. If you test positive you will be asked to isolate and to book a PCR test.

You must swab your own throat and nose with guidance from our volunteer.

You can book a test if you have had COVID-19 before and/or had a COVID-19 vaccination.
