Preparations are starting for an annual event which brings all corners of the community together in Alsager.

The One World Festival takes place once a year and year the theme is 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.

And organisers are appealing for people from other countries living in Alsager to come forward and take part in the event on October 5th.

Last year, women in Alsager were asked to donate good used or new bras to the One World Festival promoting sustainability in the town as we revealed here

Anyone with unwanted tools, sewing or knitting machines were also asked to take them along to the event at Alsager Civic.

In a similar manner, this year's event takes place from 9.30 am until 1 pm.

"As in past years we are inviting Nationals living in Alsager and the surrounding area to come and display items and information about their country," said a spokesperson.

"They are also asked to make a national dish for people to taste. Local schools and the guiding association are also being invited to bring their choir to perform.

"There will also be craft activities led by Christ Church and free tea, coffee, squash and biscuits."
