Alsager School footballers crowned South Cheshire school football champions
Footballers at Alsager School are the tops – and that's official!
Year 7, 8 and 11 school football team are the South Cheshire school football champions, beating stiff competition from other schools.
The teams took part in the competitive knockout cup competition involving all schools in South Cheshire over a few months.
And they have been praised by the school's PE department who said: "We are extremely proud of their successes and dedication throughout the season."
Finals Results:
Year 7 won 3 - 1 versus Congleton (goal scorers - Artie, Riley, Bobby)
Year 8 won 3 - 2 versus Shavington (goal scorers - Oscar 2, Oliver)
Year 11 won 2 - 1 versus Holmes Chapel (goal scorers - George and Joe)
Year 9 also got to their final but unfortunately lost 2-0 to a strong Holmes Chapel team
On top of this the Under 13 (year 7 and 8 combined) girls' football team got through to the last 16 of the English Schools Cup.
A school spokesperson added: "This is huge achievement in a national competition."
