Alsager united to celebrate different cultures at town's One World Festival
Women in Alsager were asked to donate good used or new bras to an event promoting sustainability in the town.
And anyone with unwanted tools, sewing or knitting machines can took them along to the event at Alsager Civic on Saturday (November 4th)
The town celebrated sustainability and different cultures at its free One World Festival.
Volunteer Gordon Degg from Alsager who works with Tools With A Mission to help craft a new life for people in Africa was at the event.
Alsager Nub News told here how the retired design engineer from Birch Avenue, pictured below, is helping to craft a new life for people in Africa by collecting unwanted tools and sewing and knitting machines.
He is also using his clever woodcraft skills to carve a better life for people in Africa through the church-based charity, Tools with a Mission (TWAM).
And the event also supported Smalls for All here with new and gently worn bras to give to adults and children in need in Africa.
As well as unwanted tools and bras, the event accepted donations for knitted or crocheted a square or two with instructions here
Food from around the world was available to taste to celebrate different cultures and representatives from a number of countries, including Chile, China, Greece and Germany will be at the event in Alsager.
Alsager Ladies Circle work with Alsager Tangent, as we revealed here and other groups to stage the event, which has been running since 2010.
Tracy Mould, chair of Alsager Ladies Circle said: "We hold it every year and this year we wanted to highlight sustainability.
"We're offered free tea and coffee and it was a pleasure to see everyone who came along."
Traditions, stories and crafts from around the world as well as school children from local primary schools were at the event.
