Police have launched an appeal for information after an American Pitbull dog was stolen during a burglary.

The dog has since been found at an address in Alsager but police would still like anyone with information to come forward.

Police were called to a property off Newchapel Road in Kidsgrove at around 7.15pm on Sunday night following reports of an aggravated burglary.

Two men gained access to the property through a rear patio door and threatened the victims with a knife and carried out an untidy search of a bedroom.

Both offenders were wearing black balaclavas with one them described as 6ft in height, of a slim build, and was seen wearing a black tracksuit top and bottoms and black gloves.

The other offender was described as 5ft 6ins in height, of a large build, and was seen wearing a grey top and black bottoms.

The owners of the dog were left shaken following the incident.

If you were in the area at the time and have any CCTV footage that could help the police with their inquiries, contact Staffordshire Police on Facebook, Twitter, or call 101, quoting incident number 658 of 24 April.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
