The Royal British Legion's Alsager branch is launching a breakfast club and the first event takes place this weekend.

Open to veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces, the club takes place at the Plough Inn in Alsager.

The first one takes place this Saturday (April 30th) from 9am – 11 am and thanks to a grant from Cheshire East Council the prices are subsidised.

Prices are £1.50 for a standard breakfast and £2.50 for a large breakfast, which includes a hot drink.

Jill Margett, branch and membership secretary, said: "The main purpose of the Breakfast Club is to have tasty food and lots of laughs and banter.

"In the future, we also hope to have guest speakers who will give information on how to access specialist veteran services through the DWP and NHS."

The club will take place on the last Saturday of the month.

Jill added: "The Royal British Legion, Alsager branch would thank Fay Hargreaves, manager of the Plough Inn and Richard Stevenson-Evans and Lucie Ferney of Cheshire East Council for their support and assistance in getting the event up and running."
