An unattended memorial has been organised in Alsager this weekend by a group of women who are opposed to the "mistreatment of women by society and the state".

From 10am on Saturday to 4pm on Sunday, women who can safely and briefly visit as part of permitted outdoor recreation with their household are invited to place a ribbon/flowers/poetry or pebble on Milton Park Railings, on Station Road, Alsager, and leave without congregating.

The chair of Alsager Town Council has called on Cheshire East to arrange a meeting with five landowners "as a matter of urgency" to resolve a "serious" flooding issue.

Speaking at Tuesday's Cabinet meeting, Cllr Rod Fletcher, leader of the Liberal Democrats, highlighted that there had been a "significant amount" of flooding on Linley Lane, Alsager, under the railway bridge in recent years.
