Job of the Week: PMLD Tutor

Are you a QTS/QTLS qualified teacher with experience teaching PMLD students?

Have you considered working as a tutor for local children who require 1:1 support outside of a classroom environment?

Reed Education are currently recruiting for a PMLD Specialist Teacher to work with a student on a one-to-one basis in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

About the client;

Reed Education are pleased to be working alongside on of the countries' most successful national providers of one-to-one tutors for children and young adults who require additional support outside of a school environment.

Supporting young people between the ages of 4-24, the service works with children and young adults who display a variety of requirements from SEMH, EBD, ASD and challenging behaviour, as well as SLD and PMLD, providing a safe and understanding learning environment to assist in their academic and personal development.

Working on a referral basis with your young person, you will have weekly sessions scheduled for the duration of their requirements.

This may be once per week, twice per week, up to every day.

It has yet to be confirmed how many hours this referral requires, however there may be additional referrals available.

You will be:

- Providing quality education and care for children.

- Preparing and delivering lesson plans that meet the National Curriculum.

- Using a variety of learning techniques to support the learner utilising a cross curricular or topic-based approach.

- Planning and providing a caring and stimulating environment that is appropriate for individual children and enables them to reach their full potential.

- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with children and their families.

- Observing and assessing children's development and keeping accurate record of their achievement.

- Ensuring that the service you provide to learners is thorough, inspiring and aids in their development.
