Students in two year groups at Alsager School have been asked to stay at home following another positive Covid-19 case.
Following a confirmed positive case in the school's year 12 sixth form group, pupils in year 12 and 13 have been told to stay at home today (Monday 19 October).

Alsager Fire Station's first virtual open day was temporarily interrupted after firefighters were called to a domestic building fire.
The town's on-call firefighters arrived to Linley Grove in just over three minutes after receiving the call at 11:16am.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Alsager Fire Station has been unable to hold their annual open day, but fear not residents, they are moving this year's online.
Tomorrow (Saturday 17 October), firefighters will be hosting a virtual open day on their Facebook and Twitter pages.

Alsager School has been able to "elicit" students who have had close contact with a year eight pupil who tested positive for Covid-19, meaning only those children will need to self-isolate.
The school will be contacting those parents/carers separately via email today (Friday).
A whole year group has been told to stay home and self-isolate after a fellow pupil tested positive for Covid-19.
The whole of year ten at Alsager School, on Hassall Road, has now been told to quarantine for 14 days, with their return date marked for October 21.

Plans to build four houses on an area of land in Alsager which has been used as an extended rear garden have been resubmitted after previously being withdrawn.
Simon Clutton has applied to Cheshire East Council to build four houses with new access to land at the rear of 36 Dunnocksfold Road, Alsager.

With communities across the country "saddened" that there will be no Remembrance Parades this year due to Covid-19, the Royal British Legion Alsager Branch has organised a competition to keep the "spirit of Remembrance alive" in the community.
The RBL Alsager Branch has decided to run a competition to give a "little bit back to our wonderful community".

Fairtrade supporters in Alsager will have a stall at Saturday's Olive and Stitch Market and will be encouraging the community to buy fairly traded goods whenever possible.
Sitting on the Alsager Fairtrade Steering Group are councillors Jo Dale, Julia Hawkins, Sue Helliwell and Phil Williams, who were elected on the group last year.
