Students, families and staff at Church Lawton School were celebrating this morning (Thursday) as Year 11 pupils collected their GCSE and vocational qualification results.

Church Lawton School, part of Liberty Academy Trust, is a specialist school for autistic children and young people aged 4–19.

The school says it's proud to recognise the hard work, determination and achievements of its Year 11 cohort, who have completed a broad and ambitious range of academic and vocational qualifications.

Each student has followed a personalised learning programme designed around their individual strengths, needs, interests and aspirations.

This approach has enabled pupils to develop confidence, independence and the skills needed to move successfully on to their next steps, including sixth form, college, training and future employment pathways.

Subjects studied by the cohort included English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, Further Mathematics, Computer Science, Art and Design, German and Food.

Students also accessed two-year vocational programmes at Reaseheath College, gaining valuable qualifications and practical experience in areas such as Animal Management, Food and Business, and Motor Vehicle Maintenance.

"For many of our young people, the journey to this point has required enormous courage, perseverance and trust in the adults supporting them.

"These achievements are a tribute to the students themselves, to the dedication of our staff team and to the strong partnership we have with families.

"At Church Lawton School, we believe passionately in the limitless potential of autistic learners. This cohort has shown what can be achieved when young people are understood, supported, challenged and celebrated for who they are.

"We are committed to providing a personalised and ambitious education which prepares students not only for qualifications, but for adulthood, independence, confidence and a positive quality of life. Today is a very special day for our students, and they should feel extremely proud of everything they have achieved."

Dr Nic Crossley, CEO of Liberty Academy Trust, added: "Congratulations to all the students at Church Lawton School.

"Their achievements are academic, personal and inspirational. They demonstrate what is possible when autistic young people are given the right environment, the right support and the right level of ambition.

"I would also like to thank the staff and families who have supported these students throughout their journey. We wish every young person continued happiness and success as they take their next steps."
