An Alsager club dedicated to scuba diving and snorkeling is celebrating half a century.

Alsager Sub-Aqua Club, which meets at Alsager Leisure Club on Thursday evenings, was launched fifty years ago.

And to mark the occasion, members held a special celebratory evening when awards were given out to members.

A spokesperson for the club, whose Facebook page is here, said: "What a brilliant night celebrating 50 years of Alsager Sub-Aqua Club. It was fantastic to see so many members, past and present, come together to celebrate 50 years of friendship, adventure and belonging.

"A very special thank you to our guest and one of our founder members, Pete Farrar, for joining us and helping make the evening even more memorable.

"Huge congratulations to everyone who received an award — all thoroughly deserved and a wonderful recognition of the people who make our club so special.

"Here's to the next 50 years of diving, friendship, adventures and making memories together! And I'm sure the celebrations will continue long into the night, with plenty of dancing, laughter and memories being made."
