Children get the chance to meet animals close-up at a fun-filled activity for families

Bernadette, the eight-year-old Sulcata tortoise was just one of the creatures on display at the 'Creature Feature' at Alsager Civic.
Widlife lover, Lee Cowdell, brought along an array of creatures from a skunk to a ferret and Bernadette, an African spurred tortoise, to the event yesterday (Tuesday).
Alsager Civic has a summer of fun activties as we revealed in this article here including the Big Bonanza Festival this Sunday (August 17th) - back for its third year.
The event runs from 11am until 6pm and the whole family is welcome. It will include chilled tunes, food and an outdoor bar.

The summer of fun at Alsager Civic continues on Monday (August 18th) with another children's event. Do you have a budding Albert Einstein or Issac Newton?
Alsager Civic is excited to welcome 'Sublime Science' - mixing mind-blowing science experiments with hands-on activities on Monday (August 18th) from 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm. It's £10 per person and tickets are available here
- Fizzing Potions & Bubbling Concoctions – Watch the kids' jaws drop as they see science come to life in front of their eyes!
- Sherbet-Making – Discover the science behind measurements and why it fizzes, with a dash of chemistry thrown in for good measure!
- Magic Tricks & Spectacular Science – Prepare for gasps of amazement as the kids witness "magic" experiments that reveal the science behind the mystery!
- Gooey Slime-Making – Every child takes home their very own small cup of slime! (Don't worry, it's slimetastically safe!)
