Villagers rally round to support Rode Heath man left destitute by fire

Villagers near Alsager have launched a campaign to raise money and collect clothing donations and household donations for a man who lost everything in a fire at the weekend.
A fire tore through two canalside caravans belonging to a man locally named as Bryn and a shed in Rode Heath on Friday night (August 8th) as Alsager Nub News told here .
Three fire engines, including one from Alsager, plus the rapid response rescue unit from Alsager, went to the blaze in Bibby Street at 9.30 pm.
Resident, Jenny Creamer who runs Bargain Booze in Rode Heath, immediately asked residents to come forward with clothing and other donations to help.
She said: "Thank you so much for your kind donations of clothes, toiletries etc and cash for Bryn following the devastating fire on Friday night where he lost everything including his home.
"Bryn has been into Bargain Booze and collected the clothes etc and £130 cash collected already which was great for his immediate cash needs.
"As requested we asked him his shoe and clothes sizes - he is a size 6 shoes and a small to medium build. He was overwhelmed with people's generosity and really touched.
"We asked him what he needs and he needs dog leads, dog bowls, dog food etc for his dogs which have been recovered, boots, wellies, clothes and any tools anyone can spare."
Fellow villager, Kevin Johnson launched a 'Go Fund Me' campaign here which has already raised £925 of the £2k target.
He said: "In a matter of minutes, both his homes were destroyed — along with all his possessions, cherished memories and the tools he relies on to make a living.
"He's now left with nothing but the clothes on his back. Friends and neighbours are rallying to help him get back on his feet, but he needs urgent support to replace essentials, find somewhere safe to stay and rebuild his life from scratch.
"Please give whatever you can — every donation, big or small, will make a real difference in helping him start again. In a matter of minutes, both his homes were destroyed — along with all his possessions, cherished memories, and the tools he relies on to make a living.
