Rode Health Primary School's Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA), has issued an urgent appeal for people to attend its annual general meeting in September.

The group, which raises money for school projects, equipment, trips and extracurricular activities as well as organise fairs and other events, says it urgently needs new members.

They have put out a Social Media post which says "Help Save Our PTFA: Committee Members Needed This September".

And they are urging as many people as possible to attend the AGM on Wednesday, 9 September at 6 pm at the school.

A spokesperson said: "Whether you are a parent, grandparent, or local resident, everyone is welcome to attend our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

"The roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Vice-Secretary are opening up as our current members step down.

" As a registered charity, we legally require at least three committee members to operate. Without your help, the PTFA will be forced to close.

If the PTFA closes, all future school events and fundraising will stop. Last year alone, we funded over £16,000 worth of school projects and this year just over £8000.

The appeal comes just days after the PTFA announced its summer fair last Friday (3 July) raised a bumper £5,136.05.

The PTFA said: "A huge, huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us on the night. We couldn't have raised this incredible amount without the support of our wonderful community.

"This money will be spent revamping the KS2 playground and making it more accessible for the children during the winter months."
