A popular creative venue and shop in Alsager has announced it's closing.

Two Doors Studio in Crewe Road, set up by Lorna Plant and Ruthie Williams around 12 years ago, is sadly shutting up shop next Saturday (4 July).

The business partners said on Social Media: "Our last day as a shop and exhibition will be on Saturday, 4th July.

"Until then we will be open as normal: Wed-Sat, 9.30am-5pm. Workshops will continue to run until August.

"Our landlord has plans for the use of the building, and despite negotiations, we couldn't reconcile his plans with the needs of Two Doors Studio.

"Lorna and Ruthie would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers for their love and support of our special shop over the past 12 years.

"We have enjoyed every minute - nurturing the shop, and the exhibition and workshop space. We have made wonderful friends, amongst both our amazing artists and customers.

"The Two Doors team are looking forward to using our artistic experience and hard work in new ventures. We will announce details here, when we are able.

"Any unused vouchers can be refunded, and any saved items will be stored until they can be collected. Our current art exhibition will still be running until the shop closes, so come and have a look."

Owners Lorna and Ruthie met at a craft fair a while back and their friendship and talents blossomed into a business which has helped over 300 artists showcase their work.
