Police seize £100,000 worth of cannabis from a car and are hunting the driver

Staffordshire police are hunting the driver of a silver audi A5 who fled the scene after they pulled over the car on the A500 near Audley and Alsager.

The driver made off from the scene on foot into nearby fields, close to Park Lane following the incident on Tuesday morning (October 29th) at 10.50 am. .

A police spokesperson said: "A number of large bags of cannabis, weighing around 20kg in total and worth in the region of £100,000, were recovered from the boot of the vehicle.

"We have seized the car and are examining it forensically as part of our continuing enquiries. We are also working proactively to trace the driver.

"Anyone with information should contact us on 101 quoting incident number 194 of 29 October.To report anonymously, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
