A plan to bulldoze a mechanics' garage and replace it with three homes has been withdrawn.
TBE Motor Services had applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to demolish Caldy Motors on Audley Road and build three two-bed mews houses on the site.
Alsager Town Council had objected to the scheme saying there is insufficient drainage information, inadequate car parking spaces for three properties and no garden or amenity space to the rear of the buildings.

It also said the properties do not meet national guidelines for minimum space standards.
Cheshire East's environmental protection (EP) officers had also recommended the application be refused.
United Utilities also objected pending further information, saying: "Due to the current proposal's location relative to our wastewater network, it is unclear whether adequate distance is provided to our sewers and as such our current position is that we must object to this scheme."
A spokesperson for TBE Motor Services said the withdrawal of the plan was "nothing to do with the objections but declined to comment further.
