Meet the Alsager mathematical genius who's followed in his brother's footsteps

Many of us struggle with figures and maths but not two Alsager brothers.
The Awan family seem to have mathematical skills running through their veins. Last year we ran a story here telling how Zafar Awan had passed his GCSE maths with flying colours at the tender age of 10 last year .
Now his nine-year-old brother, Abdullah, has passed the same exam - but a year earlier and achieved higher marks.
Abdullah, a pupil at Alsager Highfields Primary School in Fairview Avenue, passed his GCSE maths with a Grade 8 A star achieving 191 marks. Older brother Zafar achieved 187 marks and a Grade 7.

And dad, Muhammad, an engineer and businessman, says he's proud of both of them, adding that Abdullah is "naturally gifted in maths".
"He's really good with numbers and so montivated. He now wants to do his 'A' Level in maths. He's so keen," said Muhammad.
Zafar wants one day to be a solicitor while Abdullah is keeping his options open.
Muhammad added: "Abdullah is so gifted at maths. We're now waiting to see if their younger brother, Ali, aged seven follows in their footsteps with maths."
"We're so proud of the boys and all they have achieved. Abdullah was so keen to take the exam after seeing his borther;s success and we're so pleased with his results.
