Residents at an Alsager care home look set to be bowled over with the latest interest added to their list of activities.

Twyford House Care home in Richard Woodcock Way has already partnered with Alsager Tennis Club and holds activities with Alsager & District U3A.

Now the forward-thinking top-of-the-range home has added Alsager Cricket Club in Fairview Avenue to its list of partners and is planning to take residents to watch games.

The cricket club has forged links with over 30 local organisations and now Twyford House Care Home is the latest.

"As the home has a minibus, we make a point of getting out and about and its hugely important that we support the local community."

Alan Stancliffe, Alsager Cricket Club chairman, said: "As a cricket club, we have forged links with over 30 local organisations, who very kindly advertise their products at our ground.

"We are amazed by the tremendous support that our local traders and companies continue to provide.

"This helps us to run our flourishing junior section and provide competitive cricket for 4 senior cricket sides. "

"Our friends at Twyford House have recently added to our list of partners and it will be great to see their residents at our remaining five week ends of cricket, especially as we are currently topping the North Staffordshire league Division 2.

"We are a community club and all visitors are very welcome to our club throughout the year.
