An organisation set up to encourage lifelong learning has issued an SOS for nominations for secretary and treasurer to come forward.

Alsager and District U3a, which was set up 25 years ago, needs nominations for the two important positions in the club.

The club's chairman, Alan Bell, has urged anyone interested to come forward before the club's annual general meeting in October.

Alsager Nub News told here how the club is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a special concert at St Mary's Church in Alsager on October 15th.

"As you all have been made aware over the past few months, we will be without a secretary and treasurer from this AGM," said Alan.

"As yet no-one from the membership has contacted myself to express an interest in either of these roles.

"If no-one is nominated for these two roles then it will become impossible for Alsager U3A to continue as an organisation.

"Within the Alsager U3A Constitution all current Committee Members (Trustees) have to be re-nominated and re-elected.

"We are in a position at the moment where more Committee members are needed to help with the running of this extremely successful organisation."
