It was smiles all round for Year 11 students at Alsager School today (Thursday) when they collected their GCSE results.

The class of 2023 has been praised for their "exceptional" hard work and the "commitment" shown to learning.

Headteacher, Andrea O'Neill is delighted: "It was lovely to see them all this morning and great to see that many will be returning to our sixth form.

"Their hard work has really paid off and there were a lot of exceptional sets of results across the board.

"Students coped admirably with the disruption to their learning and have been supported by our outstanding teaching and pastoral staff.

"We have a number of students moving on to local colleges to embark on other exciting courses; I am certain that they will thrive, and I wish them all well."

Staff at the Hassall Road school continue to offer support to any students who need advice and guidance over the coming weeks.

A spokesperson said: "In addition, places are still available for anyone who does not have a post-16 course secured for September 2023 and would like to join their exceptionally high performing college.

"Please contact Mrs Haskew by email at [email protected] or phone  01270 871122 for more information.
