Individuals and groups honoured for their work at Alsager Civic awards night

A community project which stops food going to landfill was one of the projects to receive an award at the at the Civic Awards and charity quiz night at the weekend.
Congleton MP, Sarah Russell, whose constituency covers Alsager, presented the awards together with Alsager Mayor, Councillor Michael Unett.
The 'Bread and Butter Thing' details here , an affordable food club with a branch at Alsager Cricket Club every Monday received a volunteer award while Home Coffee which co-hosts a range of community events including a running club, picked up the business award.
Other organisations to win an award included the 'Heydays' which received the 'Great Neighbour award' while Wyn Thomas from the Home from Hospital service received the Carer Award.

Alsager Lunch Club based at Alsager Civic was awarded a community award along with Alsager Lawn Tennis Club.
Sarah Russell MP heaped praise on all the volunteers and organisations receiving awards highlighting the contribution they make to the Alsager community.
