Residents go to the polls later this month in an Alsager Town Council by-election

Residents in Alsager's Central ward will go to the polls later this month to elect a new councillor.
The town's smallest form of local government seeks a new representative in the Central ward.
Three candidates have put their names into the hat for the election which takes place on Thursday, 28 May.
In alphabetical order they are:
- Bailey, Katie (Independent)
- Mahoney, David (Reform UK)
- Williams, Philip (Liberal Democrats)
Voters will need to show photo ID to vote. Residents are advised to make sure they are ready to vote by checking they have an acceptable form of ID.
Accepted forms of ID include a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport; a UK, EEA or Commonwealth drivers' licence; and some concessionary travel passes, such as an older person's bus pass.
