Firefighters had to help a driver and passenger out of a car after an Alsager road became flooded again.

Heavy rain overnight meant the road under Linley bridge was flooded again and firefighters helped the occupants out of the car yesterday (Sunday) morning at 10.13 am.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "A crew assisted a driver and a passenger out of a car that was stuck in shallow flood water.

"They wore flood suits and Highways Agency attended and closed the road for safety."
