Firefighters tackled a blaze in the bedroom of a house in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday) in Alsager.

Two fire engines from Alsager and Crewe were called to the property in Coronation Avenue at 12.17 am.

A Cheshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to a fire in a bedroom and used a hose reel to put it out.

"A large fan was used to remove smoke from the property and crews were in attendance for approximately 90 minutes."
