Firefighters from Alsager attend multi-vehicle accident M6 near Sandbach
Motorists faced delays after a three-car crash and HGV on the M6 northbound between junctions 16 and 17.
Fire engines from Alsager, Congleton and Crewe and a rescue unit from Winsford were called to the accident at 5.31 pm on Friday (December 2nd).
Firefighters spent two hours at the scene and one person was taken to hospital.
A Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two people were trapped in one of the cars.
"One casualty was assisted out by paramedics after they had been checked over. The second casualty was extricated from the vehicle by firefighters using specialist cutting equipment.
"Occupants of the other vehicles managed to self-extricate and were assessed by firefighters and paramedics. One person was taken to hospital.
