Cheshire East Council's enforcement team is currently looking at the next course of action for a high-end Asian cocktail bar and restaurant whose retrospective planning application was refused.

The Vault in Crewe Road opened its doors in October but a retrospective planning application for a front extension was recently turned down.

Now Cheshire East is looking at what to do next.

A spokesperson told Alsager Nub News: "The applicant can appeal within 12 weeks of the planning decision.

"However, the council can enforce against the development at any point from the date of that decision.

"The case is currently with our enforcement team, who will assess the case and decide the next course of action."

Alsager resident and former Alsager town councillor, Sue Helliwell, who was at the planning meeting said: "I am pleased that the Planning Officer has refused this retrospective planning permission.

"The original application was for an outside sitting veranda and what has been built is contrary to TC3 of Alsager Neighbourhood Plan."

Alsager Nub News approached The Vault who said: "We have no comments to make currently."
