A fire engine from Alsager went to an incident in Crewe Road today (Tuesday) following concerns about unsafe overhead electrical cabling.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Shortly after 12:30pm our weekday fire engine from Alsager attended a concern about unsafe overhead electrical cabling. It is believed that the cables had been damaged by a passing vehicle.

"Firefighters cordoned off the area until an electrician could attend and isolate the electrical supply to affected properties. Crews handed over to SP Energy Networks and left the incident shortly after 2.15pm."
