Firefighters use water rescue raft after person becomes trapped in mud after going into pond to retrieve their dog

A dog owner had to be rescued by firefighters today (Wednesday) after they became trapped in mud after going into a pond to retrieve their dog.
Firefighters were called to a pond near to Sandbach Road North at 1.16 pm.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters rescued an individual who became trapped waist-deep in mud after entering a pond to retrieve their dog.
"Using a water rescue raft, crews reached the person and safely extracted them. They were then assessed by paramedics on scene."
Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service sent several fire engines and the technical rescue unit from Knutsford.
