Firefighters put out a microwave fire at a house in Alsager yesterday afternoon.

At around 2pm yesterday (Sunday) firefighters were informed of a smoke alarm sounding at a domestic property in Winston Avenue, Alsager.

On arrival the crew discovered that a fire involving a microwave had activated the alarm.

Firefighters extinguished the fire with water and then used a large fan to clear the property of smoke.

One fire engine from Alsager attended the scene and firefighters were in attendance for around 25 minutes.
