Students in two year groups at Alsager School have been asked to stay at home following another positive Covid-19 case.

Following a confirmed positive case in the school's year 12 sixth form group, pupils in year 12 and 13 have been told to stay at home today (Monday 19 October).

A spokesperson for Alsager School said: "You must view this as self-isolating - do not go out.

"We will contact you later today with more information."

The school, on Hassall Road, announced on Friday that they had been able to "elicit" students who had close contact with a year eight pupil who tested positive for Covid-19, meaning only those children needed to self-isolate.

Following a positive case, the whole of year ten is currently self-isolating with their return date marked for Wednesday (October 21).

All lessons for year groups self-isolating will be live lessons conducted via Teams.

After a period of self-isolation, following a positive coronavirus case in year 11, the year group returned to school on Friday (16 October).
